Apple turnovers
Serves: 4
Preparation time : 15 minutes
Cooking time : 25 minutes
Ingredients :
- Puff pastry
- 4 apples
- 50g raisins
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- 1 egg
- 100g sugar
Method (video) :
- Preheat the oven to 220°C.
- Soak the raisins in water.
- Peel and core the apples before slicing. Tip the apples along with the sugar into a saucepan. Cover with water and cook over a low heat, stirring continuously. Once the mixture has become sauce-like, add the drained raisins and the vanilla. Keep to one side.
- Roll the puff pastry out on a work surface. Cut the pastry using a fluted pastry cutter. Roll the pastry out into an oval shape using a rolling pin. Beat 1 egg and use a pastry brush to glaze the edges of the puff pastry. Heap two spoonfuls of the apple sauce into the centre of the pastry and pinch the edges together to make a parcel.
- Place the turnovers on an oven tray that has been covered with baking paper. Glaze, decorate, then bake the turnovers for 25 minutes.
Fun appétit!
